Vessel type: tanker vessel
Rank onboard: Cadet
Experience: Fun, tasking, and I was able to learn a lot from my Captain, Chief Officer down to the ratings thereby enhancing my knowledge as a Cadet onboard which enabled me practise what I've been taught in school. I got to know the bridge producer and saw it like my own home. I had to dedicate more time to learn on the bridge and on the deck so I can achieve my dream of being a future captain.
It was challenging because I had to mix up with people from different backgrounds, I was unable to see my family and loved ones even during the festive season as I was onboard. But it thought me how to be independent and I learnt how to mingle with people and see them as my family. In all I learnt how to keep to time for my duty, how to wheel the steering and learnt how to be obedient to my superiors onboard.
Linda's words/Suggestions/: MAN Oron is a good school and I'm proud that I graduated with an OND certificate. I want to also use this medium to say that what we learn theoretically in MAN, Oron is used onboard but when it comes to regimentation it is not needed atall onboard. Yet people are there using their precious time in MAN Oron to punish and they will be forming like real Nigerian Navy Officers when after school it's not used onboard or in any maritime organisation. So pls don't waste time on regimentation
FPS Shoutout: to those that have been able to add value to my life and play a vital role towards enhancing my career. And to my beloved friends Canaan Esther and Ifeoma Aduluwa, though we quarrel and have misunderstandings, you girls are forever loved and cherished by me. I got you girls back and I bet you got my back too.xoxo
Linda's thoughts:
1. The government should put more attention to the maritime sector especially MAN Oron, so it can be converted to a university as it's the most recognised Maritime institution in Nigeria.
2. Why is the government not looking into females in the Maritime sector? Most female Cadets go to school and stay home for long periods due to most shipping companies's policies on not employing females onboard yet the school is unisex. This issue should be dealt with and NIMASA should ensure they enforce the laws that can allow at least 2 female Cadets onboard each vessel.
3. Government should look into the fall in crude oil since its our number one source of revenue in Nigeria.
4. Electricity tarrif in Nigeria is too high. More focus should be put in the power sector. Nigeria should be able to be independent when it comes to electricity and afford various sources of electricity.

Roger que Linda. Lembre-se sempre arregimentação é em nossa vida cotidiana, a forma de aplicar fará outro ver a importância, abusar dela e o objetivo não será alcançado
