Diamond's space on politics and more :Nigerian Government and it's deception

Funny but not funny, its no longer news that the federal Government of Nigeria has taken back its words on its promise to pay unemployed populace 5,000 naira monthly. This however could be viewed as a welcome development, since his reasons is to provide infrastructure and also expand agriculture, that's quite understood.

As a young lad, during my secondary school days, I was taught about party manifestoes, these are the plans of a political party, its more or less their strong points which are used to woo the masses, and each party must uphold its manifestoes. Today, politics in Nigeria has been raped beyond recongnition, anyone can just lie to get into power, and after that, they forget the promises made, they forgot that it was same promises they made that attracted us to vote them into power . Its been eight months since this new Government came to bare, and we are still waiting for the change promised to us, apart from the loopsided corruption probe, the entire economy of Nigeria is at a stand still. During the campaign period, the ruling party promised so many things amongst which were to make a dollar equal to a naira, free lunch for public schools pupils, 5000 naira monthly stipend for unenployed youths, rescuing our chibok sisters in six months, ending boko haram insurgency in same six months, etc.

This big question is what has he achieved now, its eight months already and we still blame the past Government, the minister of information trade blames like we are still in the campaign era. What a shame, instead of the millions of jobs promised, many more Nigerians are losing their jobs on a daily basis, life is becoming difficult, austerity measure is setting in, a sachet of pure water is now 15 naira, an egg now sells for 40 naira, all in eight months, all the noise about corruption, yet its eight months now, no one has been convicted.

The federal Government should stop lying to us, we are tired. Lets just work quietly instead of boasting emptily.
